Reflections on Hijab and Muslimah Pride

 SOCIAL NETWORKING IN ISLAM

Hijab is mentioned in the Holy Quran for Muslim men FIRST. Your MODESTY is our DIGNITY. Brothers lower your gaze and wear loose clothing that does not reveal your body shape. The best of men, Muhammad (saw) was more shy than a young girl.

WE COME IN ALL SHADES AND FORMS – WE ALL EQUAL MODESTY

we come in all forms

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DISPLAY IS MODESTY
Muslimah Pride

We do not wear hijab for Allah (swt) creations, we wear hijab for Him- if we claim to be Muslim and claim to believe the Quran is His word then we must choose to obey Him. It is very clear that women cover with head scarf drawn over themselves and loose clothing that does not show their form – this is not for the benefit of men it is for our benefit. Our brains work by categorizing what we see, it discerns and makes judgements, this is how it works. It is not too unreasonable to look at a half naked woman and conclude her message to the world is look at my body and my sexual desirability, conversely you look at a woman in hijab and the meaning of herself she puts out is don’t concern yourself with my form, don’t think on my sexuality- look to my face and pay attention to what I say. This is simply fact. Right or wrong, fair or unfair does not enter into it.

May Allah (swt) guide us all, Ameen
